Sapete che non amo programmare i post con un palinsesto fisso, ma credo mi divertirò d’ora in avanti a segnalare, la domenica, degli ebook a bassissimo prezzo (o gratuiti) o dei giacimenti di testi cartacei usati a un centesimo, titoli che potrebbero essere passati sotto al radar dei surfisti.
Comincio perciò con una rapida segnalazione, essendo domenica e tutto quel genere di cose.
Amazon lascia per la vertiginosa cifra di 99 centesimi l’edizione Kindle* di un’affare che si chiama The Cthulhu Mythos Megapack **.
Prodotto dai sempre affidabili ragazzi della Wildside Press, si tratta di un piccolo tesoro nascosto.

Anche ammesso che abbiate tutte le storie di HPL, CAS e REH ristampate in questo volume, la sola presenza dei lavori di Bloch, di Kuttner e di T.E.D. Klein che ho evidenziato vale il prezzo di ammissione e – considerato il prezzo irrisorio – il tempo di lettura.
Senza contare Pickman’s Modem…
E poi c’è The Fire of Asshurbanipal, di Bob Howard, ed io mi sento obbligato ad acquistare qualsiasi cosa in cui ristampino “Fire”.
Non è elegante, non è sottile, non è corredato da sofisticati metatesti.
Ma come pura prova muscolare di quanto buon orrore sovrannaturale si può condensare in 99 centesimi, credo sia insuperabile.
